Description
Reserved for stainless steel components, glass bead blast finishing provides an attractive satin like appearance. Parts such as barrels are first polished to remove any tool marks or surface inclusions. This is important because blast finishing does not hide stuff very well. In fact its quite the opposite, it makes them stand out even more.
NOTES:
Glass bead finishing creates a surface that is microscopically dimpled. Similar in appearance to the skin on an orange. Water, sweat, and acids become trapped in these tiny pores and they will cause the finish to “freckle” with rust on conventional steel.
Because of this, LRI only offers glass bead finishing left “in the white” on stainless components.
